Dodge The Line! — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This privacy policy describes how the Dodge The Line app for iOS and Android ("the app") handles your information. The app is developed and published by Chalke Customs ("we", "us").
Information we collect
The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address or contact details. The following data is handled on-device, by us, or by third-party services:
- Game progress. Your best score in each mode, your coin balance and the glazes and forms you have unlocked are stored on your device.
- World rankings. When you finish a run the app sends the score, the mode and how long the run lasted to a leaderboard service we run ourselves, together with a display name and a player identifier. The identifier is generated at random on your device the first time you play; it is not your device's advertising identifier and is not linked to any account. The display name defaults to "POTTER" and a number, and you can change it in the app at any time. Anything you type as a display name is shown publicly on the leaderboard, so please do not put personal information in it.
- Advertising data. The app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier, where you have allowed tracking), coarse ad-interaction data, and diagnostic information to serve and measure ads. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses advertising data.
- Approximate location. The advertising SDK receives your device's IP address, which may be used to estimate the general area the device is in. This is an approximation drawn from the network connection, not a position from your device: the app never asks for location access and does not use location services.
- Diagnostics. Aggregate crash and performance data may be collected by the advertising SDK to keep the app and ads functioning correctly.
App Tracking Transparency
On iOS the app asks for your permission before tracking. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your device's advertising identifier is not shared with AdMob and you will see non-personalised ads instead. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Android has no equivalent prompt; there you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads.
Advertising and consent
In regions where consent is required (such as the EEA and UK), the app presents a consent form powered by Google's User Messaging Platform before showing personalised ads. You can decline personalised ads and still play the game.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and your rights
We hold leaderboard entries — a display name, a randomly generated player identifier, and the scores submitted against it — on our own infrastructure, for as long as the entry remains on a board. We hold nothing else about you: no account, no email address, no contact details, and nothing that identifies the person behind a name. To have your leaderboard entry removed, email us at hello@chalkecustoms.com.au with the display name you play under and we will delete it.
Data handled by Google (AdMob) is retained under Google's own policies and you can exercise your privacy rights directly with them. You can also reset your device's advertising identifier at any time in your device settings.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
